I'm sure everyone reading this has been to Montalto! It's a true Mornington Peninsula classic venue, perfect for lazy afternoons with pinot and pizzas on the lawn. One of my all-time favourites. And, now thanks to a dedicated team (headed by Kayla) they have dramatically upped their wedding game with a new dedicated private ceremony space carved into the vineyard. So good. While still maintaining the high quality in food and service, that they're known for.


So, are you after that relaxed Mornington Peninsula vibe — vines, olive trees, great photo op locations, and outstanding food? Montalto Estate delivers. Dedicated on-site ceremony location (with indoor / wet weather options also available), portraits among the Sculpture Trail, wetlands and olive grove, and a reception that leans into seasonal, estate-grown produce with house wines. So, so good.

Ceremony options (two great looks)


1) Outdoors among the vines

As mentioned above, they have an amazing new dedicated outdoor ceremony space at Montalto. Your ceremony hire includes the location, a signing table with chairs and 34 white garden chairs. We have access across the property for photos—Sculpture Trail, wetlands, olive grove and vineyards—which is super fun, and we get a great variety of shots without leaving the property.


2) Weather-safe indoors

If the weather turns (or, if you prefer an indoor ceremony) host the ceremony at The Restaurant — floor-to-ceiling light with vineyard views. The room is then flipped during cocktail hour in preparation for dinner. That way guests can enjoy canapés and drinks on The Restaurant deck and lawns before moving into the dining room.

Reception


  • The Restaurant – refined, produce-led dining with vineyard outlooks. Public guides commonly list exclusive use for up to ~80 seated; a Private Dining Room suits ~30.
  • Estate events / group dining – Montalto also caters for larger private celebrations up to ~140 guests across its event spaces—great if you’re planning a bigger Montalto winery wedding. Always confirm current capacities and layouts with the events team. 


The signature set menu features 10 dishes over 4 courses, built around estate-grown and local produce; beverage service comes via three package options (sparkling, two whites, two reds, beer and cider) with the ability to customise.


Montalto packages include venue hire, furniture and tableware, white linen napkins, personalised menus, an easel, in-house background sound system (with microphone) plus gift and cake table options. We’ll tailor layout and timings with the events team to fit your guest list and dance-floor plan.

Where to get ready: close and calm

Most couples book a light-filled stay in Red Hill, Main Ridge or Flinders for morning prep, then it’s a short drive to the estate. Less transit, more time with your guests.
