If Melbourne does its Melbourne thing, as it did for Cha and Joey on this day, thankfully Yarra Ranges Estate has a newly constructed barrel room, which is only metres away from the outdoor ceremony space (meaning a very quick walk if the weather changes fast) and beautiful in it's own right. Lovely lighting with floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over the vineyard.

Reception: the room with the view


Think big windows, country-modern styling and a dance floor that actually feels like a party. Capacity comfortably seats ~150 (cocktail similar). Confirm your final layout with the team. I love how everything is within the same space; the bar, the dance floor and the tables, meaning that you're always in the action. There is also a small ante-room where you can set up a photobooth / games for the kiddies.


Where to get ready: close and calm


Most couples prep in Monbulk / Kallista / Olinda or down in the Valley—hotels or Airbnbs with big windows. Less transit = more time with your people.
